My Teaching Approach

Oral pathology becomes intuitive when you build from the foundation up.

I teach clinicians to master the basics first, normal tissue architecture, physiologic variation, and what “healthy” truly looks like. Once that baseline is clear, we can skim the surface to spot early changes, then deep-dive into meaningful pathology with precision and confidence.

This structure makes learning easier, smoother, and far more memorable. When you understand the normal first, the abnormal becomes unmistakable.

My Academic & Clinical Foundation

A journey built on science, surgery, pathology, and human-centered clinical practice.

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)

Universidad Santa María – Caracas, Venezuela (1997–2002)

My dental training gave me the clinical and scientific base that anchors everything I teach today. It shaped my discipline, my eye for detail, and my commitment to patient-centered care.

Specialist in Oral Surgery & Oral Pathology

Pontificia Universidad Javeriana – Bogotá, Colombia (2004–2005)

This residency solidified my passion for understanding tissue behavior, inflammation, and disease from both clinical and histopathologic perspectives. It is the foundation of the Visual-First Pathology™ method I teach today, and the lens through which I understand lesions with clarity and nuance.

Certified Registered Dental Hygienist (CRDH)

Becoming a hygienist reconnected me to the heart of preventive care. It gave me a unique dual perspective, combining the analytical mindset of a surgeon and oral pathologist, with the daily patient connection of a hygienist. This combination is what makes my teaching especially relatable to dental hygiene professionals.

Academic Work & Professional Engagement

My background in dentistry, surgery, pathology, and dental hygiene allows me to bridge technical knowledge with human-centered clinical understanding. This section of my journey is meant to support anyone interested in exploring oral pathology through a lens of clarity, empathy, and thoughtful observation.

For those who want to understand tissue behavior, interpret clinical signs with confidence, and appreciate the emotional context behind oral changes, this approach was built for you.
